Job Description
Laboratory Supervisor Southeastern, FL

Evening Shift Laboratory Supervisor, 3 PM 11 PM
MUST HAVE: 4yr. BS Degree, ASCP Preferred
MUST HAVE: Florida supervisor license in Chemistry, Hematology and Blood Bank
MUST HAVE: Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to work within a team
Previous supervisory experience preferred.

The main laboratory processes approx 5,500 tests/day with approx 1350 in Hematology and 2250 in Chemistry. (This is excluding the Micro work referenced above) The General Lab has 9 med techs, plus supervisors, working the day shift in the main laboratory, and 7 in the second hospital laboratory. There are 9 med techs on the 3-11 shift and 4 on the 11p-7am shift (to cover both hospitals) We have a support staff of 7 clerical plus an office manager. All hospital phlebotomy is done by the Nursing staff; the laboratory has phlebotomists who cover outpatient areas only.

Microbiology has 7 full time medical technologists, 3 part time medical technologists, and one laboratory aide.
They process PER DAY approx 200 routine cultures, 40-50 blood cultures, 1-20 AFB and fungus and 10-20 O&P.

The main laboratory is approx 8,750 square feet on the second floor with windows!
The second hospital laboratory is approx 1,000 square feet and is on the ground floor with alas- no windows.
